#WEEK 3/ Translator/ "Potentialities of the digital in the classroom."

"I'm Beatriz and I'm in charge of the Translator this week, so I'm going bring up the five core terms related to this activity."


And one more week, here we are. I’m Bea and this week I’m in charge of the translator role. This week we have been doing a comic in order to represent the potentialities of the digital in the classroom. These 3 potentialities are: Visualization, Democratization of knowledge, and participatory learning; and through these concepts we had started to work and with the help of my colleagues’s reflection I am able to know what are the 5 main concepts:

-"Technology": Well, it is evident why I have chosen this word. We have all agreed in our reflections that technology is what makes it possible for education to progress and innovate when using new strategies.


-"Innovation": Innovation is another word that I need to include this week due to the presence it has. Innovation and technology are words that are linked, as we can see, innovation is present in the 3 potentialities because is the main objective of all this project, innovate in the methodology and in all the things related to education.


-"Visualization": This is one of the potentialities that we need to apply in our work, it consists of processing visual information (images) and auditory information and texts differently. In this way, people learn better by combining visuals and audios and texts.


-"Democratization of knowledge": The second potential is the democratization of knowledge, it talks about that teachers offer their students the possibility of learning both in a formal and informal environment. It talks about the accessibility of knowledge for all, and focuses on online courses promoted by universities, interactive digital platforms.


-"Participatory learning": This part talks about the fact that thanks to the innovation of technology, participatory learning has made students have a more active role than they had previously, since with this evolution of technology, the students have learned to play online games in which everyone participates and they are a team, or to hold forums in which to share opinions and tastes ...

To make our task easily, we work together through ‘’zoom’’ in order to elaborate a comic with all the qualities that it needs to be a complete comic,so, we divide the 3 potentialities and each 2 colleagues read one of them, and then, we explain to the rest of us what it was about, so in this way, we had a main idea of what should the topic was about. Then, we create a story according to what we know. Furthermore, as Cristina is an amazing drawer, she offered herself to draw the comic with the instructions of the rest of the team, and this way, we had ensured that we would make an amazing task. However, it is true that a single person doing the comic slows us down a lot and it is a lot of work for only one person.

Nevertheless, we have been helping her whenever she wanted and I believe that we have made a wonderful team.


In the end, we have realized that these key concepts are very useful for our future, and the comic is a clear reflection of all of these concepts. We have tried to apply all of them in our task this week and I think that we have achieved it, nevertheless, we need to investigate more in all of them to know more about this stuff because in the near future it will be our day by day.
