#WEEK 1/ Journalist/"The curious conceptual images."

We are starting our online portfolio for the subject "Resources in Education and ICT" at the University of Murcia!

I’m Cristina and I was in charge of the journalist role for this first task. Also, Pilar helped me to give the proper format.

In this first post, we are going to relate a somewhat curious experience that we faced this last week of February. On Wednesday, February 24, we began the practical part of our subject with a group activity that had to be carried out in the session about conceptual images.

Here's a summary of this first week, we hope you like it!

In order to observe the final result, we leave you a link to our padlet where you will find them with their corresponding format. In this way, thanks to the elaboration of these conceptual images, we have been able to conclude with some of its positive effects.

"I’m Cristina and I was in charge of the Journalist Role for this first week."

When talking about my performance as a historian, it has been a bit difficult to find the meaning of the activity and to relate it to other pieces of information that are key to understanding it.

When addressing this matter, all the members concluded that this activity was helpful to find new tools to work with, as a new strategy for the learning process. So, I looked up some websites to have more information, and I ended up including the one our teacher recommended to us. SiencesPo.fr had all the things we needed to conclude the benefits of the associations between images and texts could bring to the class! Also, I thought it would be a great idea to put some examples of the final result, which contributed in explaining the activity. I chose those with which we were most convinced that they were perfect to translate the meaning that the images should include.

At the end, each one of the members worked hard to fulfill all the tasks. But, we ended up concluding that there’s room for improvement and we would be glad to listen to your feedback!

Unfortunately I wasn't able to help developing all the activity as I couldn't assist to the class. Nevertheless, I offered my help and I worked with Cristina who had the Journalist Role, translating and doing the transcript for the first post in the blog. We worked together in order to make a great post. I helped Cristina to develop the first post. I was in charge of making sure that everything in the text was coherent and grammatically correct. Furthermore, I made a translation that made sense of what Cristina had previously written and corrected certain sentences that were out of context. Once I had the translations and corrections we reviewed it together and decided to publish it.
